A pallet is a flat transport structure that supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift, pallet jack, front loader, work saver, or other jacking device. A pallet is the structural foundation of a unit load which allows handling and storage efficiencies. Goods or shipping containers are often placed on a pallet secured with strapping, stretch wrap or shrink wrap and shipped.
Below are a list of Pallets available:
There are many different types of pallets. The most common pallets in North America are GMA (Grocery Manufacturers Association) pallets and CP pallets (or ” pallets”). GMA pallets are typically used for shipping food and beverage products and have a uniform size and specifications. CP pallets are commonly used for shipping non-food products and have no uniform size or specifications.
Pallets make up a large percentage of the waste in landfills. In the United States, it is estimated that there are approximately 2.4 million tons of pallets discarded each year. One way to reduce this waste is to recycle or reuse pallets.
There are many companies that specialize in recycling or reselling used pallets. One such company is Pallet Liquidators, which is based in the United States.
